Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) akan mengirim dua tim terbaik untuk mengikuti Pekan Ilmiah Mahasiswa Nasional (Pimnas) ke-29 di Institut Pertanian Bogor, 7 hingga 12 Agustus 2016.
"Tim yang dinyatakan lolos Pimnas adalah tim terbaik saat Monitoring dan Evaluasi (Monev) yang dilakukan pada 22 dan 23 Juni 2016 lalu di UNP oleh Kementerian Riset, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi," kata Kepala Bagian Kemahasiswaan UNP, Zainur Syafni di Padang, Rabu.
Ia menjelaskan ada 33 tim UNP dari seluruh bidang Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa (PKM) yang lolos didanai serta bersaing pada saat monitoring dan evaluasi waktu itu.
"2016 ini hanya dua tim UNP yang dinyatakan lolos untuk mengikuti Pimnas ke-29," tambahnya.
Dua tim tersebut yakni Tim Kasiman yang mengikuti PKM Bidang Pengabdian Masyarakat dan Tim Suro (Submarine Rescue Robo) yang mengikuti PKM Bidang Karsa Cipta.
Ia mengemukakan Tim Kasiman merupakan tim yang menciptakan inovasi media pembelajaran berupa Lagu dan Animasi (kartun) Sistem Periodik Unsur.
Selain itu mereka juga membuat Buku Sakti Sistem Periodik Unsur dan Games Puzzle untuk membantu siswa SMA/MA/Sederajat dalam memahami materi sistem periodik unsur sehingga dapat pengaplikasian ilmu yang telah didapatkan.
Sedangkan Tim Suro adalah tim yang menciptakan teknologi kapal selam tanpa awak sebagai upaya membantu proses pencarian korban tenggelam saat terjadinya kecelakaan di wilayah perairan.
Ia berharap kepada kedua tim terpilih berhasil meraih emas di pimnas nanti sehingga dapat memotivasi dan menambah minat mahasiswa UNP agar lebih serius untuk mengikuti PKM kedepannya.
Mahasiswa UNP, Arizaldy mengharapkan kepada kedua tim yang lolos nantinya bisa membagi pengalaman yang di dapat kepada mahasiswa UNP untuk menyongsong PKM pendanaan 2017 bulan september mendatang.
"Semoga mereka bisa membawa pulang emas pada Pimnas ke 29 di IPB tersebut," tambahnya.
